✌️ Stupid-Simple Follow-Up Strategy (Without Just “Checking-In”)

This week I’m going to cover a ‘stupid-simple’ follow-up strategy that’s guaranteed to get your prospect or clients’ attention.

The problem most sellers have is that they resort to follow-ups like the below:

  • Thoughts?

  • Bumping this to the top of your inbox

  • Just following up

  • Just checking in

I’m not saying these don’t ‘sometimes’ work - but, there’s a better way.

By the end of this issue, you’ll have a new AND simple framework…

That you can use in email, voicemail, or LinkedIn messages to greatly increase the odds of grabbing your prospect's attention.

PPI Follow-Up Framework

I came up with this framework after being “ghosted” by a large prospect I was working with.

I tried all the standard “following-up” type messages - but nothing seem to work.

So I decided to try something different and came up with what I now call the “Passion Pattern Interrupt”

Here’s the framework:

Name -

Just getting a minute to get back to you on this.

Interested to get your take on:

  1. [relevant follow-up 1]

  2. [relevant follow-up 2]

  3. [personal fact/passion of prospect]

Can we carve out time this week?

Number 3. is a ‘pattern interrupt’ and when paired with a passion it’s guaranteed to get their attention.

It’s also rather easy to find. (Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, website, etc.)

Step-by-Step Example

Let me show you how easy this is to execute.

Here’s the scenario:

Let’s say Casey Jacox is my prospect and ever since I sent him our business case - he’s gone dark.

First I take a quick scan of his LinkedIn profile:

Now there’s a lot to pick from - but I notice he was the Captain of his football team in college.

Bingo.

Next, I jump to Google and do a quick boolean search:

“Casey Jacox” AND CWU

3rd result: Casey Jacox CWU Football Biography

So much gold here, but I decided to go with his career-high stats (screen grab below)

Now all I have to do - is plug it into the PPI framework

Casey -

Just getting a minute to get back to you on this.

Interested to get your take on:

  1. Thoughts on the business case

  2. Questions from your team meeting

  3. Going 41 of 64 for 406 yds against Humboldt State

Can we carve out time this week?

Here’s a well-known fact:

People love talking about 2 things.

  • themselves

  • things they’re passionate about

Use it to your advantage.

What do you have to lose?

Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
