✌️ 13 Questions To Help You Sell More

This week I’m going to share a list of 13 questions that you can add to your arsenal as a seller.

A few months ago - we got the team together for a QBR and some upskilling.

On the agenda was a session on “Effective Questioning”.

We broke the team into groups of 3-4, gave them 15 minutes, and had them make a list of 5-6 questions that they considered “good” questions.

We then picked one person from each group to read the questions aloud and myself and other leaders were to pick a winner.

The team that won - got $100 each. (There were multiple other sessions, so there was some decent money on the line)

As they read through their questions - my leaders and I were shocked.

All of the questions were not good.

They were great.

So much so that when it came time to pick a winner - we struggled and couldn’t decide.

So we had to come up with a tie-breaker.

We asked each team to go back and agree on their TOP question.

They would then have to role-play it with our SVP who was joining our meeting.

They would ask the question and then practice keeping the conversation going for a few more minutes.

To up the stakes - we asked our 3 brand-new people (this was their first-ever team meeting) to do the role-play.

Now for most - this would cause them to break out in a cold, clammy, sweat.

But these “newbies” sounded as if they were grizzled vets.

Confident, calm, curious.

Everyone did great, but we eventually picked a winner.

From there we curated all the questions as a takeaway for future practice and use.

Here are a few:

Effective questions separate the good from the great - and it’s an area we’re always working on as a team.

And you should too if you’re looking to be at the top of the leaderboard.

That’s it for this week
